Landscape Technician

 

Welwyn Garden City – Covering Hertfordshire, Essex and Buckinghamshire

 

£20,683 per annum (rising to £21,772 per annum after 12 months service subject to satisfactory performance)

 

40 hours per week

 

We are looking for a Landscape Technician to join our Estate Service team in Hertford. The role will require you to cover several sites across the Hertfordshire area and on an average day it could include 4 to 5 site visits. As Landscape Technician you will complete grounds maintenance tasks which will include grass cutting, hedge and shrub pruning, litter picking and bulk removal. Joining a team of 5, this role will involve both lone and team working to ensure sites are kept clean for both the site users and visitors. Also know as a Grounds Operative, we are looking for someone who has previous experience in gardening role and knows how to operate garden tools and powered machinery.

 

The role of Landscape Technician will include:

  • Undertaking grounds maintenance duties such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, weed/moss treatment and litter picking
  • Ensuring all tools and equipment such as hedge trimmers, strimmers and all relevant hand tools are maintained in good, workable condition and are operated within a safe manner
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of tasks, completing daily work records as appropriate
  • Complying with health and safety requirements in accordance with supplier guidelines and assessments
  • Overtime when required

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience working within grounds maintenance or a similar role where operating gardening machinery is required
  • Holding a pesticide application certificate PA1 – PA6 or equivalent would be desirable
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to manage and prioritise workload in order to meet deadlines
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
