SUPPORT ASSISTANT – WAKING NIGHTS

 

OLEANDER HOUSE, KETLEY, TELFORD

 

£8.10 PER HOUR (RISING TO £8.53 AFTER 12 MONTHS, SUBJECT TO SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE) 

20 HOURS PER WEEK – TO WORK NIGHT SHIFTS, HOURS CONSISTING OF 10.00PM TO 8AM TO BE WORKED ON A 2 WEEK ROLLING ROTA 

 

We are looking for an individual with passion and drive to provide support, enabling our clients with a range of complex needs to achieve their potential and live more independently within their community. Ideally, you will have experience of working with clients with learning disabilities and acquired brain injuries. The Support Assistant’s role is very much hands-on and will consist of ensuring that clients are supported by developing their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and being part of their community.

 

As we take a person centered approach to delivering support, we are looking for candidates who pride themselves on having excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening and time management skills, allowing you to form positive relationships with people. You will use these skills to work with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our clients. Initiative and assertiveness will also be key to your success, as you will be required to source innovative solutions to problems that allow independence to be maximised.

 

Many different experiences can be useful and relevant to our work. So if you have strong communication skills and experience of working with vulnerable people, then you could succeed in this varied yet challenging role.
