We are seeking a confident and forward-thinking, experienced Project Worker to join our friendly team and make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Set in the heart of Ketley Millennium Village, Oleander House has 12 one-bedroom apartments. We provide care and support for adults aged 18-65, with a range of learning disabilities, encouraging them to develop their skills and live as independently as possible. As a keyworker for 2 clients, you will work on a 1-1 basis to ensure clients have choices and opportunities to enhance their life experiences.

 

We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Supporting clients to maintain links with family and friends
  • Making sure client health care appointments are up to date and support clients to attend them
  • Reporting incidents and other Health and Safety issues
  • Providing one-to-one support to clients, helping them to develop their daily living skills and strive for greater independence
  • Supporting clients with benefit application and management
  • Producing care and support plans and risk management plans with clients
  • Leading shifts and delegating duties to members of staff, ensuring duties are carried out
  • Liaising with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of clients
  • Managing any safeguarding or serious incidents

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience working in care, ideally with clients who have learning disabilities is essential
  • Ability to manage shifts and delegate duties
  • Experience of motivating and encouraging individuals to reach their goals
  • Positive approach to challenging behaviour
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • Basic computer skills are required for online training
  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
  • Good interpersonal, customer care and communication skills
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is desirable
