Assistant Chef – Part Time

 

Lawley Bank Court, Telford

 

£8.70 per hour (rising to £9.16 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

 

30 hours per week – Monday to Sunday shifts, including public holidays

 

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Assistant Chef to assist with meal preparation within our Taste restaurant at Lawley Bank Court. Set in the heart of Lawley village, our in-house restaurant and café are open to residents and members of the public seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and snacks.You will have an active input on nutritious and healthy menu choices, whilst ensuring the dietary requirements of our residents are met. This is a rewarding opportunity to come and work within an established and experienced team

The role of Assistant Chef will include:

  • Assisting with the planning and creation of nutritionally balanced meals for our residents
  • Promoting and monitoring food hygiene and safety standards
  • Carrying out risk assessments and cleaning the kitchen to a high standard
  • Assisting with the supervision and development of staff

Skills and experiences:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Catering and Hospitality, or qualification at an equivalent level
  • Qualified or willing to study 706 City and Guilds, is essential
  • Previous experience of working in a catering environment is required
  • A valid basic Food Hygiene Certificate, or the willingness to work towards one, is essential
  • Proven knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
  • Friendly and approachable attitude with the ability to interact with our residents and visitors
