General Assistant – Cleaning – Part Time

£9.00 - £9.28


10 hours per week



We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed General Assistant - Cleaning to maintain high standards of cleanliness at Elizabeth House, whilst adhering to health and safety guidelines. In addition to this, you will also assist with meal preparation. Set in a quiet suburb on the outskirts of Taunton, our in-house Taste restaurant is open to residents for lunch seven days a week.


Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, open manner is essential for success in this role.

The role of General Assistant – Cleaning will include:

  • Undertaking general duties as assigned, such as maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen
  • Ensuring a clean, comfortable and safe environment is maintained in the communal and service areas of the scheme
  • Helping to prepare meals and drinks by following food hygiene standards and ensuring the needs of our residents are met
  • Working with residents, families, advocates and staff to ensure a high standard of services
  • Identifying and reporting potential faults and hazards on site, to maintain a safe environment
  • Maintaining stock levels, restocking as required and ensuring equipment is used in line with guidance notes


Skills and experiences:

  • Experience of undertaking general cleaning duties is essential
  • Some experience of working in a domestic/cleaning environment
  • NVQ2 in Hospitality & Catering, or willing to work towards
  • Working knowledge of food hygiene standards
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • A general understanding of health and safety in the work place
