We are seeking an experienced Concierge to join our team at Sudbury Homeless Services. At Bromfield House we support clients who are aged 18-65 years old and experiencing, or at risk of homelessness encouraging them to maximise their potential and independence. You may be faced with challenging situations daily so you will need to be resilient and confident in managing these.

 

We value our team and encourage learning and progression through our comprehensive induction programme, as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. Sanctuary has their own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

The role of Concierge will include:

  • Being a first point of call to receive and direct all customer and client queries
  • Developing good relationships with clients, helping them develop life skills
  • Handling occasional emergency/challenging situations with the occasional need for personal care
  • Going above and beyond to ensure an excellent service is provided to our clients
  • Some health and safety responsibilities e.g. fire safety checks
  • Ensuring the security of the service is maintained
  • Writing and updating client notes  

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience within a similar role, completing similar tasks, is essential
  • Demonstratable knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and its application
  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults, people with mental health needs or substance misuse would be advantageous
  • Confident in lone working using your own initiative, and as part of a team
  • Ability to hit the ground running and work under challenging circumstances
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of using IT systems
