Bank Care and Support Assistant

 

Tilmore Gardens, Petersfield

 

£10.67

 

Hours as and when required – Shift include 7am – 2pm, 2pm – 9pm

Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.

Rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC, Tilmore Gardens provides registered supported housing for ten adults with learning disabilities and complex health needs on the outskirts of Petersfield. The service may be challenging at times, but it presents a rewarding opportunity for someone who is resilient and confident in overcoming hurdles.

The role of Bank Care and Support Assistant will include:

  • Key working with individuals to support them in setting out a care and support plan
  • Following care plans and writing comprehensive care notes
  • Providing a high quality, personalised care and support service including the sensitive delivery of personal care and managing medication
  • Helping residents to get up, washed and dressed
  • Supporting residents to go to into the local community e.g. visits to local shops and cafes, visiting friends and attending doctors appointments
  • Promoting a positive culture by engaging with residents to prevent social isolation
  • Working with residents and other staff members to ensure a clean and comfortable environment
  • Promoting safe practices and undertaking risk assessments

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Prior experience delivering personal care is desirable
  • A kind, caring nature
  • Ability to work well both as part a team and on own initiative 
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to the changing needs of residents
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is desirable
