Housing Apprentice – Level 2

 

18 Month Fixed Term Contract

 

Location – Woodview House, Paignton

 

Starting Salary Year 1: £10,062

 

37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

In partnership with our training provider Sysco Business Skills Academy, we are offering an exciting opportunity to learn across a broad range of areas within the housing industry over the course of 18 months while working towards an Apprenticeship in Housing. You will be provided with first rate on the job training, leading to an NVQ / QCF Level 2 nationally recognised qualification, while at the same time supporting the Housing team to gain an insight into the systems and processes, we use.

 

The Housing team provides a comprehensive housing management service including property and garden inspections, compliance tasks, anti-social behaviour, allocations, and estate management. Working alongside our Housing Officers as part of a team of nine you will be carrying out a series of front-line rotational placements where you will have the opportunity to learn about topics such as property letting, tenancy agreements, housing benefits and estate management.

 

The role of Housing Apprentice will include:

  • Tenancy management including property inspections, tenancy breaches, boundary and repair queries and tenancy changes
  • Managing new and existing tenancy agreements
  • Completion of compliance tasks related to building safety, legionella and fire risk
  • Ensuring properties are maintained to high standards including regular estate inspection
  • Estate Management including dealing with fly tipping, abandoned vehicles, garden condition and repairs to communal areas
  • Management of communal keys and fobs
  • Communicating effectively in writing, face to face and/or over the telephone with colleagues, customers, and external agencies

 

Skills and experiences:

  • A minimum of 2 GCSEs at grade C or above (grades 4 – 9) or equivalent in Math’s and English
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal
  • Commitment, determination, and enthusiasm
  • Flexible and adaptable team player
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems
  • Basic knowledge of MS packages (including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
