Care and Support Assistant

 

Old Milton Road, New Milton

 

£8.66 to £9.11 per hour (dependent on qualifications)

 

39 hours per week – various shifts, including alternate weekends

 

 

We are seeking a Care and Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Old Milton Road is located in the centre of New Milton and within walking distance of the seafront.  We provide care and support for 15 adults aged 18 and over, who have learning disabilities by enabling them to live independently. The service contains 2 shared houses and 5 individual flats. The role of Care and Support Assistant will include:

  • Providing a high quality personalised care and support service that meets individual residents’ needs
  • Delivering expert support to residents, including the sensitive delivery of personal care
  • Promoting safe practices by undertaking risk assessments and implementing safeguarding principles
  • Encouraging residents to engage within the local community and participate in social activities and helping them to lead fulfilling lives

Skills and experiences:

  • A personalised approach, ideally with experience of working in a similar care related role
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong “can-do” attitude
  • Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to react quickly to changing priorities whilst working to deadlines and targets
  • NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
  • Good communication skills allowing you to build strong relationships with our residents
