Redcar and Cleveland Services are seeking an enthusiastic Care and Support Assistant to join our team and make a real difference in our residents’ lives. Thirlmere Crescent provides support to adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues.

 

The role of Care and Support Assistant will include:

  • Delivering expert support to residents including the sensitive delivery of personal care, whilst ensuring their privacy, dignity and independence is maintained
  • Assisting residents to become a part of the wider community, by supporting regular social and leisure activities/opportunities
  • Administering medication
  • Assisting residents with shopping, cleaning and laundry tasks
  • Promoting safeguarding principles and undertaking risk assessments to ensure the safety of our residents
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date records

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience of working in a similar, care related role
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong “can-do” attitude
  • Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to react quickly to changing priorities whilst working to deadlines and targets
  • NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
