Bank Support Assistant

 

Roxby Avenue, Middlesbrough

 

£9.51 per hour (rising to £9.81 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance) 

 

Hours as and when required – early and late shifts which are 8.00am-5.00pm and 2.00pm-11.00pm, also including sleep ins

 

 

Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.

 

We are seeking a Bank Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Located in a residential area of Middlesbrough, Roxby Avenue supports 8 adults with learning disabilities aged 16-65, using the Life Star Model. The role of Bank Support Assistant will include:

  • Providing a high quality, hands-on care and support service
  • Ensuring that residents are supported by developing their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and being part of their community
  • Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our residents

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Ideally you will have experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, however candidates with enthusiasm, a real passion for the role and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply as we are committed to delivering a tailored training programme
  • Initiative and assertiveness will also be key to your success, as you will be required to source innovative solutions to problems, allowing our clients to reach their potential
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening and time management skills, allowing you to form positive relationships with people
  • NVQ2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards is desirable
