Support Assistant – Part Time

 

Corner House Floating Support, Mansfield

 

£9.51 - £9.81

 

15 hours per week – To include days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays

 

 

We are seeking a Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our residents.

 

We provide community-based floating support to people aged 18 or over, who have learning disabilities and who live in the Mansfield and Ashfield areas of Nottinghamshire.

The role of Support Assistant will include:

  • Providing a high quality and hands-on support service
  • Supporting our residents to live as independently as possible
  • Ensuring that residents are supported by developing their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and being part of their community
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping residents to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our residents
  • Maintaining a safe environment for residents, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures and practices

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Ideally you will have experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, however candidates with enthusiasm, a real passion for the role and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply as we are committed to delivering a tailored training programme
  • You will be empathetic and non-judgmental with a positive approach to managing challenging behaviour
  • A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening and time management skills
  • NVQ2 in Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential

To carry out this role in line with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2021 you will be required to be fully vaccinated against Covid 19 by 11th November 2021, unless you are medically exempt.
