Care and Support Assistant – Part Time

 

To cover Hazel Court, Worcester and Albert Park Road, Malvern

 

£8.42 to £8.68 per hour (dependent on qualifications)

 

30 hours per week

 

 

We are seeking a Care and Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Both Hazel Court and Albert Park Road provide care and support for adults aged 18 to 65 with a range of learning disabilities, encouraging them to develop their skills and maximise their independence. The working hours will be divided across both services. Are you kind, patient and understanding? These are qualities we value and actively look for in our team. The role of Care and Support Assistant will include:

  • Providing a personalised, high quality care and support service
  • Delivering expert support to residents including administering medication and assisting with cooking, cleaning, shopping and attending appointments (e.g with GP)
  • Encouraging residents to become a part of the wider community, by supporting regular social and leisure activities and opportunities
  • Promoting safe practices and undertaking risk assessments
  • Implementing safeguarding principles to ensure the safety of our residents
  • Some lone working

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience of working in a similar, care related role ideally with experience of working with residents with learning disabilities
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong “can-do” attitude
  • Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  • Ability to react quickly to changing priorities whilst working to deadlines and targets
  • NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
