Bank Project Worker

 

Kent Mental Health Services – Covering Bower Mount Road, Maidstone, Swan House, Maidstone and Prices Court, Sittingbourne

 

£9.66 per hour (rising to £10.17 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

We are seeking a Bank Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Our Supported Living Services provide support for adults aged 18 to 65, with a range of mental health needs, encouraging them to develop their skills and live as independently. This is a rewarding opportunity to come and work within an established and experienced team.

The role of Bank Project Worker will include:

  • Regularly assessing the needs of our residents by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training and employment
  • Offering housing-related support to encourage our residents to maximise their level of independence
  • Supporting residents to manage their finances and maintain their tenancies
  • Supporting residents to build confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Developing professional relationships with residents to ensure that they maintain personal choice, privacy and dignity

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience of working with vulnerable people
  • Experience of managing benefits claims would be advantageous
  • Good interpersonal and customer care skills with an approachable attitude
  • Reacting effectively in high pressure situations
  • Knowledge of working with partner agencies and liaising with social care
  • Skills in maintaining accurate records and support plans
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft packages and internet communications
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willing to work towards, is essential
