We are seeking an experienced Retirement Living Housing Manager to join and manage our team at Coopers Court. Situated in a bustling area of Bow, close to Mile End Park, Coopers Court provides apartments and communal facilities for over 55s.


You will be providing leadership  to the scheme, managing a team of staff and making sure health and safety requirements are met, to ensure the safety of our residents and staff.

The role of Retirement Living Housing Manager will include:

  • Ensure the effective delivery of a high quality housing service through the management of buildings, grounds, amenities, contracts and budgets
  • Manage the recruitment, performance management and development of quality staff to ensure required skilled staff are available to meet the needs of the service
  • Building partnerships with the on site care provider and working with relevant parties to facilitate contracts with the best use of the scheme’s services
  • Ensuring health and safety requirements of the building, including fire safety
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with residents, families and external agencies, and responding promptly to any feedback or complaints
  • Signposting residents for further support if and when required
  • Encouraging and supporting wellbeing activities to encourage participation and involvement  
  • On-call duties are required


Skills and experiences:

  • Proven relevant management experience in the Retirement Living, Extra Care, Care or Housing sector 
  • Level 3 Diploma in Housing, Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • Good customer service skills
  • Strong listening and observational skills
  • A friendly personality with the ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads
  • Good administrative skills with a keen eye for detail
  • The ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workloads
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems and SAP is desirable
