£10.12 per hour (rising to £10.65 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)


37.5 hours per week – Mondays to Sundays, shifts between 8am and 8pm



We are seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our clients.  Set in the heart of the London borough of Wandsworth, John Pounds House offers on-site support for 20 one-bedroom self-contained flats.


We provide medium-level, personalised support for adults with mental health needs, and promote physical and mental health and wellbeing to enable our clients to develop their skills, achieve their individual goals and move on to independent living.


You will use your excellent communication and support skills, working with colleagues and partner agencies to  achieve the best outcome for our residents. This is a rewarding opportunity to come and work for a respected organisation, within an established and experienced team.

The role of Mental Health Support Worker will include:

  • Regular key working and support planning to ensure relevant support is provided for our clients
  • Enabling and encouraging our clients  to maximise their own potential and level of independence
  • Assessing clients’ needs by writing and updating support plans, and completing risk assesments  
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the residents, actively encouraging choice and involvement, acting as an advocate when required
  • Sourcing innovative solutions to problems that allow clients’ independence to be enhanced

Skills and experiences:

  • Ideally, you will have experience of working with people who have mental health needs
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • Experience working within a CQC registered service is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
  • A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management is desirable
  • An understanding of occupancy agreements is desirable
