Landscape Technician

 

Kingsmead Office, London, E9

 

£22,833 - £24,035 per year

 

40 hours per week

 

We are looking for a Landscape Technician to join our team based in Hackney, London. As a Landscape Technician you will be responsible for the ground maintenance of numerous sites across the region, ensuring that all outside spaces are in excellent condition. Daily tasks can include grass cutting, hedge trimming, shaping flowerbeds, pruning shrubs and litter picking. You will be working in a team of 3, and some lone working may be required. Training will be provided, and different opportunities are available to progress your career with Sanctuary. 

 

The role of Landscape Technician will include:

  • Undertaking grounds maintenance duties such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, digging over of soil and litter picking
  • Ensuring all tools and equipment such as hedge trimmers, strimmers and all relevant hand tools are maintained in good, workable condition and are operated within a safe manner
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of tasks, completing daily work records as appropriate
  • Complying with health and safety requirements in accordance with supplier guidelines and assessments

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience working within ground maintenance or a similar role where operating gardening machinery is required
  • Holding a pesticide application certificate PA1 – PA6 or equivalent would be desirable
  • An enthusiastic, well organised team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Some experience interpreting written instruction and maintaining simple written records
  • Horticultural training would be advantageous
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
