Fire and Security Operative

 

Wood Green, London – Covering London and South East

 

£33,207 per annum (rising to £34,954 after 12 months subject to satisfactory performance)

 

40 Hours per week

 

We are looking for an experienced Fire and Security Operative to join our Fire Servicing and Repair team. You will form part of a dedicated team of engineers, responsible for carrying out routine maintenance on life safety and security systems, to ensure safe and compliant properties in line with the Group’s property portfolio. This role includes a company van and you will be covering the London and South East regions.

 

The role of Fire and Security Operative will include:

  • Carrying out fire and security servicing, repair and installation works including Fire Alarms, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting, Smoke Vents, Fire Shutters/curtains, CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Warden Call
  • Ensuring all works done are in compliance with relevant regulations
  • Resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution 
  • Providing accurate and timely information on progress of works and completing accurate daily work records
  • Contributing to special programmes and projects when required

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience of servicing to BS 5839-1 & BS 5266-1 is essential
  • Experience of remedial works and installation within a similar role
  • Working knowledge of the application  of Health and Safety legislation
  • Trade specific qualifications e.g. Fire Industry Association qualification is desirable
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of fire safety issues
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
