Care and Support Assistant – Part Time

 

Sidegate Lane Nursing Home, Ipswich

 

£9.23 to £9.51 per hour (dependent on qualifications)

 

25 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced and engaging Care and Support Assistant to provide personal care and support to our residents at Sidegate Lane, located in a quiet area of Ipswich. Our residential nursing home is a fun, fast-paced environment – no two days are the same!

 

We have a free, spacious car park, but if you don’t drive, we’re conveniently located on a bus route.

 

We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression.

The role of Care and Support Assistant will include:

  • Delivering a high level of personalised care and support for our residents and encouraging them to maximise their potential and level of independence
  • Managing nutrition, and supporting residents to prepare snacks and drinks when required
  • Assisting with the administration of medication
  • Assisting residents with their shopping, with a keyworker role
  • Promoting a positive culture by engaging with residents to prevent social isolation
  • Responding to the nurse call buzzer
  • Maintaining security of the building through a door entry system and managing visitors
  • Other duties will vary depending on residents’ needs

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Personalised approach to care, ideally with experience of working in a similar, care related role
  • Experience working with vulnerable clients, with physical or learning disabilities is desirable
  • NVQ2 in Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards is essential
  • Patient, calm and respectful with a caring disposition
  • Willingness to work as part of a team
