Care and Support Assistant – Part Time


Avalon Court, Ipswich




25 and 23 and 18 hours per week available

We have an exciting opportunity for a Care and Support Assistants to join our dedicated team, providing personal care and support to our residents. We are looking for an individual who wants to make a real difference in people’s lives and become a valued member of our team.


Located on the Ipswich waterfront just 10 minutes from the town centre, Avalon Court has 14 self-contained apartments for adults with a physical disability or learning disability.


We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. Sanctuary have their own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

The role of Care and Support Assistant will include:

  • Providing personal care to residents, including washing, dressing and toileting
  • Supporting residents with both preparing and eating meals
  • Helping residents with their finances
  • Giving residents support in the local community, including food shops and trips into town
  • Aiding those with communication difficulties


Skills and experiences:

  • NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards is essential
  • Previous experience in a similar care role is desirable
  • A patient and caring attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate relevant information
  • A positive and accepting approach to clients whatever their needs
