Title:  Mental Health Project Worker - Temporary position for up to 8 months

Mental Health Project Worker – Temporary position for up to 8 months

 

To cover Folkestone & Hythe and Dover (based at Dolphin Lodge, Hythe)

 

£10.26 per hour (rising to £10.58 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

 

20 hours per week – Monday to Friday on a rota basis with the occasional early morning or late night

 

 

We have a great opportunity for a Project Worker provide an outreach, front line service for rough sleepers as a first point of contact. You will be undertaking assessments based on each person’s needs, to help them to source appropriate accommodation and improve their opportunities to sustain a home in the future.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Working at least one day per week from Dolphin Lodge in Hythe and Dover Council offices/Discovery center engaging with housing options
  • Ensuring that there is close coordination with Folkestone and Hythe District Council and Dover District Council to ensure that any homelessness duties are met
  • Enhancing working relationships between the local authority and a wide range of local statutory and voluntary agencies
  • Providing intensive support to rough sleepers to support them in breaking the cycle of homelessness permanently
  • Supporting clients to meet the requirements identified within prevention/relief pathways as identified jointly with Folkestone and Hythe District Council and Dover District Council 

 Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience working with homeless people would be advantageous
  • Ability to manage shifts and delegate duties
  • A caring nature and a confident, ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Basic computer skills are required for online training
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is desirable
