Project Worker – Part Time

 

Langley Close, Felixstowe

 

£9.20 per hour (rising to £9.69 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

 

16.5 hours per week – shift pattern to be based on a fortnightly rolling rota

 

 

We are seeking a Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Langley Close is a 15 bed homeless hostel, supporting 16-21 year olds to help them gain the skills required to move on and live independently in the community. This is a rewarding opportunity and applicants with excellent interpersonal skills and an empathetic nature would be encouraged to apply.

 

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Assessing clients needs, writing and updating support plans on a regular basis
  • Ensuring that relevant support is provided to enable and empower our clients to reach their own potential and level of independence
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the clients, actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  • Promote safe practices and undertake risk assessments within legislative frameworks

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Proven experience of working with relevant client group
  • The ability to work on your own initiative to source innovative solutions to problems that allow residents independence to be enhanced
  • An understanding of drug and alcohol use and addiction, as well as mental health issues, would be an advantage, however full training will be given
  • Good interpersonal communication and customer care skills
  • NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is essential
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
