Night Project Worker – Part Time


Defoe Court, Epsom


£10.26 per hour (rising to £10.58 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance) Subject to April 2020 Pay Review


30 hours per week – 3 nights per week


Do you enjoy working with young people? We have a great opportunity for a Night Project Worker to join our friendly team. At Defoe Court, we support 21 young people aged 16-25 years to develop the skills and confidence to move to independent accommodation.  Living in self-contained studio flats within a building that also has some shared facilities, we work to ensure our young people feel safe and secure in their accommodation.  You will be working as part of an enthusiastic team committed to ensure the best outcomes for all our young people.

The role of Night Project Worker will include:

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with residents
  • Regular key-working and action planning so that relevant support is provided to ensure that our residents are maximising their own potential. This includes assessing residents’ needs, and writing and reviewing action plans
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping residents to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies in partnership with residents, actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  • Ensuring Sanctuary Supported Living delivers its safeguarding responsibilities
  • Some evening, weekend and sleep-in shifts may be required

Skills and experiences:

  • Sound knowledge of action/support planning, key-working, risk assessment and safeguarding
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft outlook
  • A positive approach to working with young people
