Leasehold Contract Manager


National role with an anticipated balance of home and office working - Base location may vary dependent upon suitable candidate


£49,147 per annum (rising to £51,734 after 12 months service, subject to satisfactory performance)


37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday – Occasional evening work may be required

We have an exciting opportunity for a Leasehold Contract Manager to join our Homeownership team. In this newly created position, you will be responsible for residential leases where Sanctuary Housing is the leaseholder, including ensuring that all parties carry out their lease and management obligations.


The Homeownership team manages Homeownership properties and schemes, which vary from Private Retirement Schemes, Shared Ownership properties, non age-defined owned blocks and properties sold under various Right to Buy Legislation.


This is a national role, so base office location will be flexible within our national pay area upon suitable candidate.


The role of Leasehold Contract Manager will include:

  • Unpicking complex Leasehold contract arrangements and ensuring lease and management obligations are being adhered to  
  • Managing complicated service charge disputes
  • Monitoring and challenging, where appropriate, external Service Charges and Management Fees set by third parties
  • Liaising with Development and Housing Operations teams to set the service charge on new developments and ensuring a smooth handover of management arrangements to Housing Operations
  • Where necessary, working closely with Legal, Service Charge and other teams to prepare and present Case Bundles for First Tier Tribunals and court


Skills and experiences:

  • Significant experience of interpreting leases, and drafting and negotiating other relevant contractual agreements
  • Experience in effective financial management of contracts and services
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and good practice including Section 20 consultations
  • Excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to confidently resolve disputes
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
