Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.

Are you a friendly and dedicated person looking for a rewarding career?

If this sounds like you then we may have your perfect opportunity!

We are currently recruiting for a Bank Support Assistant to join our team at Woodlea Avenue.  Woodlea Avenue is a learning disability service for adults with low to moderate needs and we focus our support on encouraging and promoting independence. You will be working as part of an experienced and dedicated team to support a total of 14 clients in our supported housing services and in the community.

We value our team and encourage learning and progression through our comprehensive induction programme, as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression. Sanctuary has their own Learning and Development Academy, who provide a wide range of training courses, open to all.

Sanctuary also offers a great employee rewards scheme, where you will be able to receive a variety of discounts from major retailers.

If you want to make a positive impact to people’s lives, this is a rewarding opportunity to work with residents on their journey towards achieving their goals.

The role of Bank Support Assistant will include:

  • Providing a high quality, personalised support service
  • Supporting residents to build the confidence they need to gain further independence
  • Encouraging residents to develop their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and being part of their community
  • Maintaining a safe environment for residents, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures and practices
  • Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our residents

Skills and experiences:

  • Ideally you will have experience of working with vulnerable people, however candidates with a real passion for the role and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening and time management skills
  • You will be empathetic and non-judgmental
  • A positive ‘can-do’ attitude and a willingness to persevere through challenging situations
  • Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential

Why work for Sanctuary Supported Living?

We support vulnerable people to live as independently as possible, by building their confidence and skills to realise their potential.

We specialise in services for young people, homeless families and individuals, people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, people with mental health needs and older people.
