Bank Project Worker

 

Nickleby Road, Chelmsford

 

£9.66 per hour (rising to £10.17 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

We are seeking a Bank Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Nickleby Road and Berwick Avenue provide support for adults with learning disabilities, through short-term accommodation and support to help build independent living skills. One of the key roles of the Project Worker is helping with tenancy sustainment, employment and budgeting. This is a rewarding role and a fantastic opportunity to join our small, well established team.

The role of Bank Project Worker will include:

  • You will be supporting our residents with a range of daily living skills such as cooking, shopping, budgeting, helping them with claiming benefits and searching for education/employment opportunities
  • Safeguarding residents and communicating ways for them to keep themselves safe and who to report to
  • Completing health and safety checks within the service
  • Reviewing risk assessments to support, reduce or eliminate risks and work through personalised support plans with the residents
  • The successful candidate will be working in a team of 7. Shift pattern is as and when required to assist with shift cover for annual leave, training or sickness; this includes nights and weekends

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Our ideal candidate has an NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, and has experience working with clients with learning disabilities
  • You will be a team player but also have the initiative and ability to work on your own
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to build strong working relationships
  • An understanding of occupancy agreements is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
  • A full, current driving licence is desirable
