£9.95 per hour (rising to £10.26 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.
We are seeking an experienced Bank Senior Care and Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Sussex Avenue is a well-established, purpose built bungalow that provides intensive care and support for adults with profound, multiple, learning and physical disabilities.
This service is part of an exciting development with significant investment by Sanctuary Supported Living and Kent County Council in collaboration with the family of residents that live at Sussex Avenue. The role of Bank Senior Care and Support Assistant will include:
- Leading and motivating a team of Care and Support Assistants
- Providing personal care and encouraging residents to maximise their independence and personal potential
- Managing and implementing safeguarding principles to ensure the safety of our residents
- Promoting safe practices and undertaking risk assessments as appropriate
- Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers
- Supervising Care and Support Assistants on a day to day basis and through formal supervision
Skills and experiences:
- Recent experience of working in a similar role with vulnerable people is essential
- Previous experience supervising a team
- Personalised approach, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to form positive relationships with people from varied backgrounds
- Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong “can-do” attitude
- Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy
- NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care
