Accommodation Manager  

Brighton University, Brighton       

£24,187 per annum (rising to £25,461 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

35 hours per week

We offer a range of accommodation from shared flats to self-contained apartments in some of the biggest university towns and cities in the UK, including London, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow.

Joining our team at Great Wilkins Halls, the Accommodation Manager will ensure maximum occupancy whilst also maintaining a Health and Safety compliant environment. You will ensure exceptional customer service is consistently delivered and will assist staff with any escalations that may arise. This role would suit a proactive and conscientious individual with a passion for customer service and the ability to multi task whilst resolving complex queries

The role of Accommodation Manager will include:

  • Managing occupancy through working with partners and local educational institutions
  • Preparing and managing local budgets, monitoring accounts and facilitating debt recovery
  • Monitoring contract service performance, taking action to deal with poor performance and promoting best practice
  • Managing the recruitment, performance and development of staff
  • Developing and implementing effective operational plans to ensure that service delivery meets contracted quality standards

Skills and experiences:

  • HND in Hotel, Hospitality or Property management (or related subject) is essential
  • Proven experience of working in the student accommodation, hotel, hospitality or property sector is essential
  • Proven experience of staff management within a customer facing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service and negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
