Bank Project Worker

£9.77 per hour (rising to £10.07 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.
We have a great opportunity for a Bank Project Worker with passion and drive to support our residents with their daily living skills. Set in a quiet, residential area of Bridgwater, Drawbridge House has eight fully-furnished bedrooms in a shared house. We provide support for adults aged 18 to 65, with a range of learning disabilities, encouraging them to live as independently as possible. The role of Bank Project Worker will include:
- Providing one-to-one support to clients, helping them to develop their daily living skills and strive for greater independence
- Promoting clients to make choices
- Helping clients with; budgeting, menu planning, writing shopping lists, cooking, general house work and medication administration
- Supporting clients with benefit application and management
- Producing care and support plans and risk management plans with clients
- Liaising with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of clients
- Managing any safeguarding or serious incidents
- General house keeping
- Working with in a shift pattern including every other weekend
- You may be required to work “sleep in” shifts
Skills and experiences:
- An NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent, is desirable
- Experience of motivating and empowering individuals to reach their goals
- Positive approach to challenging behaviour
- The ability to work on your own initiative
- Some experience of working with clients with learning disabilities and/or complex needs
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
