Bank Project Worker

 

Linden Road, Bognor Regis

 

£10.26 per hour (rising to £10.58 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

 

Hours as and when required, including day shifts and sleep ins

 

 

Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.

 

We have a rewarding opportunity for a Bank Project Worker to join our team. Linden Road has 10 rooms in a shared house. We provide support for young people aged 16 to 25 who are at risk of homelessness.

 

Residents are encouraged to develop their skills and live as independently as possible. Working closely and in partnership with statutory agencies, including Social Services, Youth Services and the Local Authorities, we support our young clients to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully move on into independent accommodation.

The role of Bank Project Worker will include:

  • Regularly assessing the needs of residents by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training and employment
  • Supporting residents in their day to day living i.e. with cooking and cleaning
  • Offering advice in relation to fulfilling tenancy conditions
  • Assisting residents with managing finances and welfare benefits 
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping residents to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the residents and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  • Promoting safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management
  • Good understanding of occupancy agreements
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • The ability to react effectively under pressure
  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is essential
