Landscape Technician Level 1

Avenue Services, Enterprise Centre, Blacon, Chester

£17,353 per annum (rising to £18,267 after 12 months service subject to satisfactory performance)

40 hour per week

We are currently looking to recruit a Landscape Technician to work within the Avenue Services Ground Maintenance Team. The team is responsible for delivering an estate maintenance service across the Chester area. We are looking to recruit an experienced individual to deliver a grounds maintenance service which will include operating specialised machinery and the safe use of chemicals. You will be a team player who will be enthusiastic with good interpersonal skills.

The role of Landscape Technician will include:

  • Undertaking grounds maintenance duties such as weed spraying, grass and hedge trimming and general maintenance for shrub and hard standing areas
  • Ensuring gardening tools and equipment such as hedge trimmers, strimmers and all hand tools are maintained in good, workable condition and are operated within a safe manner
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of working tasks
  • Complying with health and safety requirements in accordance with supplier guidelines and assessments

Skills and experiences:

  • Recent experience of working within a similar role where operating gardening machinery is required
  • Holding a pesticide application certificate PA1 – PA6 or equivalent would be desirable
  • An enthusiastic, well organised team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Travel will be a requirement of the role; therefore a full, current driving licence is essential
