Scheme Manager - Homeownership


Allington Court, Billericay


£19,300 - £20,316 per year


32.5 hours per week


We are looking for a Scheme Manager – Homeownership to join our Homeownership scheme based in Billericay. The role of Scheme Manager – Homeownership, reports directly to the Homeownership Officer. You will be part of a team of 6 Scheme Managers covering London and the East. You will be directly responsible for your own private retirement scheme but may be required to travel to cover staff absence and leave.


We are looking for someone with excellent customer care skills who is comfortable working alone, is self motivated and is able to effectively deal with pressurised situations.


The role of Scheme Manager - Homeownership will include:

  • Making contact with vulnerable clients, including daily welfare calls
  • Carry out compliance tasks daily, weekly and monthly, including testing the fire alarm, water hygiene, quarterly emergency warden call testing in residents properties
  • Complete estate inspections to meet compliance with Health and Safety, and Fire Safety to ensure clean and safe homes for customers
  • Highlighting repairs and faults and monitoring them through to completion
  • Build relationships with local contractors; cleaners, grounds maintenance, and residents, and be able to manage the service delivery and ensuring they are dealt with appropriately
  • Assisting the Homeownership Officer with consultations for service improvements, resolving problems, setting and monitoring of budgets and accounts and support effective income recovery
  • Maintaining and updating of records to ensure all information we hold is accurate and correct


Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role
  • Numeracy and literacy to the equivalent of GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths
  • Some experience of working with older people in a support capacity and understanding their individual needs
  • The ability to be able to work to deadlines and prioritising work loads
  • Effective communication skills at all levels, oral and written
  • Some experience of problem solving and implementing effective solutions
  • Proficient user of Microsoft packages including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams
  • NVQ3 in relevant area (e.g. housing / health & social care) is desirable
  • Full current driving licence is desirable

The full time equivalent salary for this role is £22,270 based on 37.5 hours per week rising to £23,442 after 12 months service and subject to satisfactory performance.
