Bank Assistant Chef

 

Moreton Court, Bideford

 

£9.24 per hour (rising to £9.53 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Bank Assistant Chef to assist with meal preparation at Moreton Court. Set in the picturesque town of Bideford, Moreton Court provides apartments and communal facilities for over 55s. Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, open manner are essential for success in this role.

The role of Bank Assistant Chef will include:

  • Assisting with the planning and creation of nutritionally balanced meals for our residents
  • Promoting and monitoring food hygiene and safety standards
  • Carrying out risk assessments and cleaning the kitchen to a high standard
  • Assisting with the supervision and development of staff

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience of working in a catering environment is essential
  • Level 2 Diploma in Catering and Hospitality or knowledge at an equivalent level
  • Qualified in 706 City and Guilds, or willing to work towards
  • A valid and Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Proven knowledge of health and safety procedures
  • Friendly and approachable attitude with the ability to interact with our residents, visitors and colleagues
