Care and Support Worker - Part Time

Goodwin Court, Barnet

£8.03 to £8.59 (dependent on qualifications) subject to a terms and conditions review due to be implemented July 2019

19 hours per week and 28 hours per week available, morning or afternoon shifts


We are seeking Care and Support Workers to join our friendly team at Goodwin Court. Goodwin Court provides support to a diverse group of clientele, including clients with learning and physical disabilities. The role of Care and Support Worker will include:

  • Providing a high quality person-centred service that meets the needs of individual clients
  • Providing hands-on personal care to clients to maintain a clean and comfortable environment, including washing and dressing
  • Assisting with meal preparation and supporting clients with eating and drinking when needed
  • Administering medication to clients
  • Supporting clients with domestic tasks, such as vacuuming, laundry and shopping
  • Engaging with clients and supporting them to attend activities
  • Completing and filing paperwork detailing daily tasks carried out
  • Responding to emergencies

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience in a care role is desirable but not essential as full training is provided
  • A genuine caring nature and interest in caring for older people
  • Skills in providing specialised care such as demetia care would be advantageous
  • Experience administering medication is desirable but not essential
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable
  • Good understanding of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel or simillar
